Last Tango in Alicante?

There are two sides to every transfer....

Wolves now look almost certain to sign Tomasz Frankowski.

An official statement from Elche CF states they have accepted the clubs offer, and negotiations are taking place over the players personal terms.

Frankowski confirmed as much in the Polish media saying that the matter was now with his manager, and only a major disagreement on the fine details of his contract would stop the deal going ahead.

Vital Wolves has followed this saga almost from its start and has never had any doubt that the deal would go ahead.

For Wolves it represnts a phenomenal piece of business, but what of the cost to a club who will see a star player torn from their grasp?

Frankowski has served Elche for less than six months. His signing was supposed to usher in a new age of prosperity, and a promotional push to La Liga. The same circumstance that brings him to Wolverhampton.

His agreed sale has seen major changes wihthin the Alicante club that have left their loyal fans wondering what will happen to their season.

President Ramon Sanchez has resigned, officially for personal health reasons. But the refusal of The Elche Board to agree on the capture of defender Pablo Amo whilst agreeing to the sale of Tomasz Frankowski are already being seen as the deciding factor in his leaving.

Following Sundays dissapointing 0-2 loss to Valladolid coach Uribe's position is now also under fire. Which has left Elche fans cursing the day Wolverhampton Wanderers came to town.

If Wolves were ever to twin themselves with another club, then Elche would surely be it.

Underachievment and large investment is a common thread between their two recent histories.

As are early campaigns, that started out with so much promise early doors, but have left their fan base asking questions.

So when the Molineux faithful get their man, and hail Frankowski in front of the media, bear a thought for those in Alicante who are left to pick up the pieces.

It seems that Elche and Wolves fans have lived the same situations. Don´t worry stuart, as i´ve read i´ve seen that spanish newspapers and british say the same things. Perhaps it´s just a translation, isn´t it?

The reason why Ramon Sanchez has resigned as a president is just because Elche has a lot of debts and he doesn´t want to pay them. Since he resgined we haven´t been able to see him in the media wich it is absolutetly cowardly, don´t you think?

Every year we have hundreds of illusions but then, after a few games we feel disillusioned because we see that out team doesn´t deserve this situation, but maybe this situation is what we deserve just because we are prepotent, we think that we are the best, and the reality is that only the more humbles teams achieve the first spanish division (Premier league). However thank you for your suppport, i think that now we have a new Elche supporter in England, am i wrong? hehehehe Don´t doubt that after this franek´s deal every weekend i´ll pay attention to what your team does.

No creo que por escribir en ingles sea un maleducado. Simplemente no habla el castellano, hasta hace poco intercambiabamos comentarios con seguidores polacos en ingles y nadie les dijo maleducados.

Ademas, Stuart entra siempre de buen royo y por lo que se puede leer le tiene bastante afecto a nuestro equipo, asi que tratemos de recibirle lo mejor posible. No debemos llamar maleducado a una persona que entra de buena fe a pedir informacion y encima lo hace educadamente porque de la gente de fuera que no es del elche que ha entrado a este foro, de los pocos que se han librado de insultarnos o de crear mal royo han sido precisamente los polacos o el ingles, precisamente extranjeros.
